BATON ROUGE, LA, September 25, 2019 – IEM was recently named as one of the “2019 Best Places to Work” in Baton Rouge, placing 10th in the large employer category. The awards program is a project of the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, the Greater Baton Rouge SHRM, an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, and Best Companies Group.
The program was created in 2014 to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Baton Rouge, benefiting its economy, its workforce, and businesses. IEM began participating in 2015 and finished 5th, 9th, and 7th in the first three years, all in the small- to medium-sized employer category. In 2018, IEM moved to the large employer category and placed 11th.
Companies from across the region entered the two-part process to determine the “Best Places to Work” in Baton Rouge. The first part consisted of evaluating each company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Baton Rouge, analyzed the data, and used their expertise to determine the final rankings. The rankings of the winning companies were released on the morning of September 24 during an awards breakfast.
