IEM Promotes Preparedness and Response Experts in its Expanding International Homeland Security and Emergency Management Sector

Gary Scronce and Don Griffith Take on New Roles

IEM, a tech-enabled global leader in disaster and crisis management consulting firm, announces the promotion of two homeland security and emergency management professionals in IEM’s International Homeland Security and Emergency Management sector.

Don Griffith was promoted to Director of Response. In this role, Don will lead our response efforts across the country, including ongoing COVID-19 vaccination support efforts in several states and our continued support for air operations and logistics to current and future clients. Griffith is an experienced disaster response professional with 32 years of aviation, emergency management and homeland security experience, including 12 years of experience managing projects related to disaster air response, recovery, and preparedness. He has deployed 54 disaster air response experts to U.S. territorial airports in both the Atlantic and Pacific.

 Gary Scronce was promoted to Senior Director of International Homeland Security (IHLS). In this role he will work with the sector leadership to expand IEM’s IHLS program as well as the execution and implementation of its goals. Scronce has served in various roles at IEM over the past 22 years, most recently serving as IEM’s Director of Preparedness Programs. He has over 27 years of emergency management and homeland security experience. At IEM, Scronce has overseen more than 225 technical assistance deliveries in 40 states, including large urban areas, U.S. territories, and numerous tribal nations. In addition to response planning, exercise, Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, and other preparedness projects, his recent experience includes directing disaster recovery work, mitigation planning, response deployments, and recovery planning efforts for clients.
