Walk-In Appointments Available At Tysons Vaccination Center
Patch – Walk-in COVID-19 vaccine appointments are now an option at the Tysons Community Vaccination Center at Tysons Corner Center. The new vaccination center opened at the former Lord & Taylor store at Tysons Corner Center on April 20. It is organized by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Virginia Department of Health in cooperation with the Fairfax County Health Department and the Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management and run by Ashbritt/IEM as part of a contract with VDEM.

Only in IEM Health the number of deaths drops until the week of May 5 and then rises again slightly to a weekly total of 276 deaths.

WAVY – The AshBritt Management & Logistics and IEM Health Community Vaccination Center will open in Newport News Tuesday, at the Hampton Coliseum on Thursday, and they will take over the Virginia Beach CVC at the Convention Center beginning Monday.
Three Hampton Roads mass vaccination sites set to open next week; some sites have changed
WAVY – Three community vaccination centers will be popping up in Virginia Beach, Hampton, and Newport News next week, but some plans have changed. Two clinics are now set to open up in different locations than originally proposed. The original goal was to open a mass vaccination site at an empty former Toys R Us store near Lynnhaven Mall. Now, the plan is to keep that box empty. Plans changed when Johnson & Johnson paused its vaccine distribution due to health concerns.

Inside NOVA – The Fairfax CVC is organized by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) in cooperation with the Fairfax County Health Department and the Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management. And demand got even greater for the Pfizer vaccines administered at the stadium now that the CDC and FDA have put the Johnson & Johnson shot on hold as they investigate reports of rare but potentially dangerous blood clots in six women.

Vaccination Sites Ready For Influx After Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Paused
CBS Miami – There were long lines at Hard Rock Stadium Wednesday, as people anxious to get the COVID vaccine poured into the parking lot. There are no appointments necessary at the site. And with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on hold and the only other no-appointment site at Miami Dade College North, which is just offering the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, more people are traveling to the stadium.
