Daniel Michael, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Dan Michael, a Certified Public Accountant and seasoned finance executive, brings over 20 years of experience in Fortune 500 corporate finance and accounting to his role as Chief Financial Officer. As a leader overseeing all financial operations, he focuses on optimizing strategic performance, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and upholding financial excellence. Dan’s career is defined by his roles in various financial leadership positions across diverse operating environments and industry segments, where he has demonstrated deep expertise in financial management and leading high-performance teams.

Before joining IEM, Dan was Vice President of Finance for a large management and information technology consulting firm. In this capacity, he was instrumental in instilling fiscal discipline through process management and robust systems, ensuring transparent, fast, and accurate business intelligence, forecasts, and performance metrics. He specializes in business intelligence, supporting organizational growth, and enhancing operating performance. His contributions to building business analysis and enterprise-wide reporting and analytics functions from scratch were recognized with Computerworld’s Business Intelligence Integrator of the Year award.

Dan’s career showcases his multi-dimensional experience in corporate finance and business segment controllership. His systematic approach to complex business challenges has been pivotal in advancing business strategies, optimizing financial planning and forecasting, and driving strong cost management. His leadership style is flexible yet effective in fast-paced environments, prioritizing planning, prioritization, and oversight of multiple initiatives.

As a critical advisor to the President and Executive Management Committee, Dan oversaw firm-wide management, forecasting, and reporting. He played a significant role in business evolution, executive engagement, financial management, and controls. His leadership in developing and leading executive financial management training highlights his commitment to enhancing business understanding and promoting fact-based, market-centric decision-making.

His professional credentials as a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia and extensive experience make him an asset to IEM and its financial operations. His strategic vision, coupled with his ability to navigate complex economic landscapes, continues to drive financial success and organizational growth at IEM.

Dan’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University.
