WHAT WE DO

Delivering Cost-Effective IT Solutions That Work

For more than four decades, IEM’s information technology (IT) and software solutions have helped make our communities safer, our warfighters more effective, and government agencies and private businesses more productive. Leveraging the latest advancements in technology, IEM has successfully executed hundreds of projects for public and private sectors—from developing a multi-million dollar chemical-biological hazard prediction model used by federal agencies to design and implement a cost-effective, robust state e-government portal.

Our approach focuses on the mission of our clients – how to manage programs to produce better outcomes. We are not tied to our own software solutions – we help our clients select the best of breed that meets their needs and then if needed, build what cannot be bought. IEM invests in partnerships with leading commercial cloud offerings to deliver quality solutions for clients that desire commercial off the shelf (COTS) based capability that can be adapted and configured on a faster timeline.  Through partnering agreements with commercial platforms and enterprise agreements with full scale cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google, AWS), IEM continues to deliver for its clients as it has been doing since 1985.

IEM’s Team has Deep Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle

Our software professionals are experienced in all activities in the software lifecycle, with projects involving all lifecycle aspects successfully delivered since that same decade – dedicated to software requirements, development, testing, deployment and technical and service desk support. In more recent years, IEM evolved our software practice to fully incorporate DevSecOps, agile method,s and automated testing to deliver applications faster and with greater cost efficiency.

IEM has delivered solutions as diverse as web-based grants management tools, independent verification and validation (IV&V) for multi-billion dollar federal systems, acquisition-based decision support systems, and secure web portals for state and federal clients. We specialize in leveraging open source technologies to provide clients with state-of-the-art systems that rely less and less on licensed software with expensive fees.

IEM Applies Accepted and Disciplined Software Project Management Methods

The software development group at IEM has been continuously appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) Level 3 since the summer of 2010. We will be one of the first companies to be appraised under the new CMMI v2.0 model and revised appraisal methodology.  The continuity of our software and technical staff is truly and IEM strength, allowing us to apply lessons and best practices born of many years software lifecycle experience.
