Jared Jakubowski, a program manager with over a decade of community development and disaster recovery expertise, currently leads Disaster Recovery Program Operations at IEM. He specializes in strategizing and implementing community organizing, economic development, planning-zoning, and housing development projects. His leadership in post-disaster recovery efforts has been pivotal in managing contracts for public infrastructure, public facilities, engineering, architecture, and auditing.

Jared has demonstrated exceptional skill in converting disaster-stricken areas into sustainable developments. A notable example of his work includes managing a redevelopment project for the City of Moore, Oklahoma, transforming 15 acres of tornado-damaged land into a mixed-income, mixed-use development of over 250 units. This project exemplifies his ability to blend economic development with community revitalization.

As the Director of Disaster Recovery Program Operations, Jared leads IEM’s housing recovery efforts, particularly for the Puerto Rico Department of Housing Repair, Reconstruction, or Relocation Program. His leadership has exceeded program goals and expectations, particularly in managing intake and determining eligibility for homeowners affected by disasters.

Before his tenure at IEM, Jared was a Grants Manager/Associate Planner for the City of Moore, Oklahoma. He managed various projects and grants, including affordable housing and community development initiatives. His experience also includes public safety and compliance roles at the City of Purcell, Oklahoma, where he managed one of the largest detention centers in the State, underscoring his versatile administrative and leadership skills.

Jared holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida, complementing his extensive professional experience. His expertise in translating federal regulations into practical program implementations and providing training and technical assistance in housing, economic development, and community development is invaluable. Jared’s blend of strategic vision, operational leadership, and commitment to sustainable community development makes him integral to IEM’s disaster recovery and revitalization mission.
