Setting the Record Straight: IEM Challenges Unjust Disqualification from NC Hurricane Recovery RFP
Raleigh, NC, May 23, 2025 – IEM International, Inc., a North Carolina-based firm, strongly refutes an inaccurate claim made during the North Carolina General Assembly’s committee on hurricane recovery that IEM failed to submit required financial documentation in response to the Hurricane Helene Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program management Request for Proposal (RFP). Having provided three years of audited financial data, IEM is confident that it submitted all the financial information necessary to respond to the RFP.
With a 40-year legacy of successful disaster recovery, IEM approached this RFP with the seriousness it deserves. The decision to disqualify IEM’s compliant proposal without review or scoring is highly irregular and concerning. IEM has timely filed a Notice of Protest with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and seeks to have this project re-bid.
IEM stands by its integrity, its North Carolina employees and partners, and its unwavering commitment to the state’s recovery and resilience.
