September is National Preparedness Month (NPM), a yearly campaign to promote preparedness and create a culture of readiness. The FEMA and Ready Campaign 2024 NPM theme is “Start a Conversation,” recognizing that talking about disasters will help individuals and families begin taking the necessary steps to incorporate preparedness into their lives. The campaign this year is focusing on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities to help them better prepare for a stronger, more resilient future.
